Ñ We have worked with Shiva on a fix for connecting networks after Instant Wake. It was implemented in Shiva Config v3.7.5b1. It will be available on Shiva's BBS in the near future.
Ñ Some of CPU╒s default hot keys are the same default hot keys as other products. For instance, SCSI Probe uses Command-Space to mount volumes, CPU uses it for the cursor locator. Command-Option-Shift-B is used by Super Boomerang to toggle itself on and off. These types of conflicts are unavoidable and can be overcome simply by reassigning one of the two keys to another key combination.
Ñ When using SuperDisk! from Alysis or Multiclip from Olduvai, CPU needs to be loaded first.
Ñ CPU controls the backlight, resting (Power Cycling), sleeping, and many other power consuming devices. Using more than one utility to control these functions can produce undesired effects. For instance, when resting is disabled in the Portable/PowerBook cdev, CPU can't rest the computer. Likewise, when other software is trying to control then backlighting like Backlight Control (by Ricardo Batista) or Apple's PowerBook Display cdev, strange things happen to your backlighting. The bottom line is, if you would like CPU to control the backlight or resting or any other function, disable other software that is attempting to do the same thing.
Ñ When Instant-Wake is active, AppleTalk services are not enabled until the network is accessed. Since some access to the network cannot be detected by CPU, AppleTalk appears not be available. If this happens, open the Chooser and try to access the network again.
Ñ If you are using the ╘wake on ring╒ feature of your modem or fax, do not use security at sleep time unless you will be available to authorize the password when the incoming call wakes the machine.
Ñ There are a few rare circumstances when Keyboard Power cannot provide control over menus or dialog boxes. This is typical of software that uses what are called ╘custom menus╒ or ╘custom controls.╒ If you have Keyboard Power enabled and a dialog or menu appears that doesn╒t have underlined characters, it╒s probably a custom control or menu.
Ñ The percent battery charge and time remaining are only rough estimates based on power consumption, and can only be as accurate as the consistency of usage. In addition, the power delivered can vary greatly from battery to battery and even from charge to charge, while the power consumed by the computer is constantly changing. We have provided two different methods of tracking the battery╒s charge state: percent charge and time remaining. You may find that one method works better for your system at different times. With use, CPU learns and remembers your power usage patterns and adjusts its estimates.
